Is anyone else going on holiday for a last ditch celebration?

DP & I are going to Morocco in about three weeks time & I am so excited! He used to live there & feels like he's done everything he needs to do, so I get to pick everything. I can't wait!

I am! My parents have an annual 6 week vacation in Mexico every March, and I've been tagging along for 1 week in the last few years.

It's at a nice timeshare resort in Cabo. Their unit overlooks the beach and pool. We don't do much touristy stuff (though I have in the past - snorkeling, watching the marlin contest) but it's a relaxing week where the days revolve around napping, pooltime, and what/when to eat.

I'll be 29/30 weeks at the time, which is just at the edge of my comfort level for travel, esp out of country.

We weren't planning to, but our friends with babies keep recommending it so we'll see. I really do like to be at home more than anything, though. For the money, I think I'd rather splurge on having someone clean my house .

I'm going to Israel on Monday!

I'm going alone, though, which is kinda the way we like it. DH is a HUGE homebody and loves being home alone to do projects. I'm a traveler, and love being all over the place. So it works out great, though whenever I DO drag him out of the house, he enjoys himself, so I wish he could come with me.

Nope, no vacation for us. I wish. But we already have four littles at home and dragging them around is so NOT relaxing! I was actually disappointed to find I was pregnant again because we had specifically planned a big trip this coming summer to San Antonio and then Corpus Christi. Now, we'll have to wait a couple more years.

Sort of... We have two kids already so our vacations are definitely not quite as relaxing as they used to be. DH is from the UK, so usually we go there, but this year we're going to Hawaii (at the end of this month actually!) for my sister's wedding.

I'm not looking forward to the traveling itself (two layovers and DS2 is a lap child and probably won't sit for any of it), but my grandmother lives on Oahu, so at least the lodging is free!

We went to Hawaii for ten days before our daughter was born as our "babymoon." It was heavenly.

My sister and her fiance are coming up from California to throw us a shower. They have offered to let us have an overnight the night before the shower. My wife wanted to head to the beach, but I think my idea of a hotel room in the city with a couples massage and a grown-ups only dinner may have swayed her! At any rate it'll be our first (and likely last!) night alone & away since our daughter was born. I'm jazzed

We are considering leaving DS with the inlaws for one night before baby comes. We would just get a hotel room downtown or something and go out for a nice dinner. So far we're just considering it...I dunno if it will be much fun, we'll both be fretting over being away from him all night! But we thought it might be good as a trial run in case I have to go to hospital for the birth/postpartum.

We going to do the same thing...probably for our anniversary in Feb, but I am so nervous too. I'm sure dd will be fine because she loves staying with my parents during the day, but she's just never had anyone but me put her to bed and she still nurses to sleep, although she can be rocked to sleep too. So I guess it's less of a celebration and more of a trial run in case I need to be hospitalized or the baby is born in the middle of the night.

I *really* want to go away, but dh is more of a "lets stay at home and save more money for the baby" kind of guy. I have no problem going on my own if he's not up for it. I have a friend who I went to Florida with last year...she paid for my plane ticket and I watched her kids if her and her husband wanted to go out. It was a super sweet deal. I might try that this year

Oh definitely need to fit a holiday in before this one arrives. So we are going to Fiji and just trying to settle on a hotel at the moment. They are known for being child-friendly and having great kids clubs. Can't wait!

Sort of. It's our five year anniversary this year (!!). We originally planned to go back to our honeymoon destination, but with an anniversary just a month before our due date, I don't want to do that.

So, in March, we'll go to a fancy hotel in our city and celebrate with sleeping in, fancy dinners out and museum hopping and shopping. My parents are coming to watch DS, and since we'll be just 20 minutes from home, it will be easy.

The "babymoon" is about a month before our anniversary and two months before the due date. I wanted to do it early so I'm still feeling up for actually taking the trip!

Wow, I'm so jealous of all of you that get to take pre-baby vacations! I'm an accountant - the only thing I get to do before the baby comes is work 7 days a week for tax season!!!!
