Hi,
Been trying to get my supply re-established. Been overnight nursing, and letting my LO feed as often as possible. Sometimes my breast will leak and if LO is sleeping I will quick jump to the pump, only to my surprise I barely pump out and oz. Why would I leak, if I am not even full? Or wouldn't you think if I am leaking I would be able to pump out more milk?

What sort of pump do you have?

go over it and make sure everything is put together right and nothing is broken. With my Avent manual pump I used to find that when it wasn't working well it was usually because I had put the valve thing in upside down.

But also, if you are not used to pumping, you may not get a lot at first, and also, some people just don't respond well to pumps, you might want to consider hand expression, if you find pumps don't work well for you. I know some people that get more that way.

Why do you think you don't have a full supply? Will your baby nurse?

You also could need a smaller or bigger sized breast shield for the pump.

NO real help but I leak and only pump out 1.5 to 2 oz so you're not alone.

My LO feeds pretty well, he sometimes get really fussy when there is not enough coming quickly enough for him. My supply went low when I started pumping exclusively due to thinking something was wrong with my milk. Resolved now, I am trying to get my supply back up. Using regalin and breastfeeding exclusively with the exception of a 4- 6 oz a day supplement when DS is hungry and my supply is low in the evening.
Around noon I started leaking and went right for the pump only go get out 1 oz. I was engorged and leaking and very disappointed when I only saw 1 oz come out. I have a Medela PIS, but perhaps the shields are not fitting properly? I do have to squeeze and move my breast around to make sure I am extracting all the milk I can.
Suggestions? Comments?

I bet your supply is better than you think.

I don't know.... I still have to supplement with 4-6 oz. a day, and I wish I didn't have to supplement at all. I used to be able to pump 6 oz or more in a session, of course in the a.m after some sleep. Now I only get 2 oz.... don't know why....
Trying to pump after feedings now to increase supply in addtion to using regalin.
