Anyone ever done it for yourself or kiddos? Was it worthwhile? The one where you drink a mannitol/lactulose combination and then they test your urine to determine leaky gut/malabsorption. I am thinking of having it done on me (DD has food intolerances through my BM), just wondering if it will show anything and would be useful for us.

Thanks,
Jenn

I haven't. For us, I'm not sure what benefit we'd get from having it done. I'm pretty darn certain that I have a leaky gut, and since a baby's natural state is to have a leaky gut, I'm sure ds did too. I need to heal, and his gut should be closing if we treat it right, so basically we'd do the same thing anyway.

I did it for myself.

It involved fasting, guzzling the drink, then collecting urine over a couple of hours.

Was it worth it? Hrm. In hindsight, probably not. I would have been better off just assuming a leaky gut - I did have many of the symptoms though they were pretty mild.
