For a while now I have had a vague notion about the connections between diamonds and civil war in Africa. Lately i have wanted to learn more. I saw a very disturbing documentary today on the history channel and the images are still haunting me. I plan to read a book about diamonds and civil war in sierra leone as soon as barnes and nobles ships it out.
So, my question is, what good is this information going to do for me? I will even more upset and depressed. I never bought diamonds anyway, its not like it is going to change my spending habits. I would never have the guts to share this information with other people who like buying diamonds in hopes of changing their spending habits. Does anyone experience similar thoughts on this subject?
