Is there an online site to help with learning to crochet? I can do the basic type, which goes around in a circle. I've seen a lot of things like diaper covers I'd like to make that are crocheted.

Well, there's http://www.crochetcabana.com/index.htm. No videos but really excellent pictures and descriptions. That in conjunction with you tube are really good resources for newbie as well as experienced crocheters.
Can I ask what diaper covers you've been looking at? I learned to knit specifically because the selection of crocheted diaper covers was so limited.

For crocheting in the round, crochetcabana has a basic tutorial that is pretty good. I suggest getting some acrylic or cotton (so you can rip it out easily) and just try it. It really seems a lot harder than it is.
lionwool has a good, free, printable booklet that i've used for teaching

there are good videos out there, i hope someone has the link...

at keyboard perpetually
Heh, that'll teach me for posting when I'm tired. I wrote that I can't crochet basic, but I can.

Rootz, thanks for that link, I'll have a good lookee this morning. Cristeen, I have some links on my computer (I'm on my brother's at the moment), and I must have just found the few for some reason that are crocheted.

II think this is my nesting thing, I suddenly have these urges to make things. My friend's nesting urge was baking, and she ended up with a ten and a half pound baby so I'd much prefer this!

If someone started crochethelp.com, they'd make a fortune. Just a thought, if there's any aspiring WAHM crocheters out there... think about how many knitted things have crocheted borders.

knittinghelp.com already owns the URL and uses it to redirect people to there site. Evil knitters be . JK
