learning tower longevity

513 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  mamabutterfly
we're thinking of getting a learning tower so DS can participate in kitchen activities and the like. i'm wondering about its longevity with your children: how long do they use it, what other things do they use it for, etc? before making the investment, we'd love to know more.

and any cheap places to buy?

thanks!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE ours. DD spends hours on this thing. She helps me do dishes, cook dinner, play water games in the sink, clean, put a sheet over it and it's a fort or puppet theatre. Supposedly it will last until she's 5. I can see that - I think she will use it until she is tall enough to reach the counters herself.

I bought mine through a mom distributor online and got a good deal $125 free shipping. The woman who owns the company was great to deal with - great service. I would buy from her again! http://www.kiddinaround.com/Merchant...egory_Code=FUR
We absolutely love ours. DS didn't have a good appetite until I bought the learning tower and he loves to help cook and be in it in the kitchen. I bought mine on Ebay for about $115 including shipping.
We just ordered one (I'm hoping it will arrive today!), so I don't have any personal experience yet, but I've talked to several moms who LOVE them.

It will certainly last for several years in the kitchen, and could be transformed into a little fort or puppet theatre after that.

The suggested retail price on them is $149, but because there is so much competition in selling them, you can find places that have them around $125.

I think it's worth the investment, and when they are done with it, you could always sell it on ebay to another mama!

ITA - This is basically what I was going to write, lol.
DD is 2.5 and on it daily. I would mention your kitchen has to be big enough to "house" it. (Mine almost isn't - kind of a pain, but worth it IMO).

I've spent money on plently of smaller things to occupy her but this will last so long and then still be in great shape for a sibling or to pass along, which is more than I can say for most of our cheaper stuff.
