They are in the garage under a shop light.

We're planning on turning off the heating mat (they've all germinated.)

Do you think if we cover the trays with a plastic lid, and water well before we leave that the moisture condensation that forms will keep them from drying out?

We're leaving Friday afternoon and returning Monday afternoon.

It's worth a try. I am really not experienced, and have no special equipment whatsoever, but I had to leave for 3 days, so I simply left my seedlings on the patio (some had sprouted, some not), out of the rain, and somewhat out of the sun. I preferred that to leaving them in the dark kitchen, and it worked well for me.

Yup, it'll work. Did it last year for 5 days in March when we went across the state. I got some 6" domes from Irish Eyes for that particular thing, too. Worked just groovy, and my seedlings weren't dried out or anything - the soil was actually still somewhat moist.
