I've been reading along. Dh has moved out recently but not paid the bills for the last couple months, so I'm getting the disconnect calls now. I'd say more but he has cyber monitered me in the past. Is there anyway to get money out of him for these bills/child support if no papers have been filed in court?

Whose name are they in?

If they are in his name, call the companies and inform them, and ask for them to transfer it to your name.

If they are in his name and your name, or your name, you really have no legal recourse.

I'm sorry that it happened. My XH swore he was paying bills, and then all at once my car was repossesed, my house went into foreclosure, and the utilities were going to be shut off. I wasn't living there at the time, but it was scary to know that all these things were affecting my credit -- and having the car repossession people coming to my work!

I don't have any advice, just sorry that he did that. I hope you find a way to reconcile things (with the creditors) so it won't effect your credit rating.

Thanks, I hadn't even thought of credit ratings...They are in his name, he had the bills sent to a po box instead of the house. The power went out today for a few hours but it came back on a couple hours later WHEW

I wish I knew something that would help - I think it's one of our biggest fears as dependent mamas ~ and unfortunatley, the X's know it. It really $ucks - I hope you get things resoved soon!

It's good that the bills are in his name. It's his problem then. It's now time for you to get things switched over to yours.

He paid them off since they were in his name so now I don't have to worry til next month. Now they are in my name.
