Hey Ladies.

During my last pregnancy, I discovered how much I hate maternity pants and how much more comfortable skirts are. So this time around, I'm planning to primarily wear skirts throughout my entire pregnancy. But I'm not sure how to keep my legs warm. I was thinking of getting some sort of leg warmers but I'm not sure if they exist. I could always buy tights or leggings and just alter them but I'd rather not, simply because I would feel like I'm wasting all that good fabric. I know there are bunch of moms on here who don't wear pants at all so I'm sure someone around here will have some ideas.

I have a bunch of skirts but only one that's really a winter skirt. The rest are more or less spring and fall skirts. They're good for cold weather but not snow and wind storms, the latter of which we've been getting a lot lately.

TIA

I mostly do thigh-high or knee-high socks, or stockings. With the stockings, I make sure that they get rolled under my belly. Mid-pregnancy I begin to hate thigh-highs, but the knee socks are awesome all the time. The trick is getting skirts that have flow. A-line skirts are going to be cold, but bohemian styles with lots of fabric or multiple layers will be much warmer.

I too much prefer skirts over pants or jeans. In fact I'm in jeans and miserable right now at only 7 weeks. This is my first so my experience is only with my "previous" body :p I LOVE over the knee socks. True, they often end up under my knee, but the difference is that they stay knee high. More then once I've gotten "knee highs" that have a tendency to end up a couple of inches below my knee by the end of the day. Maybe my lower legs are abnormally long? I don't know but the over the knee socks are great and come in fun strips for under those long skirts! Now I just need to find someone to make up a bunch of long skirts for me!

I love leg warmers and long socks. you can find some at sockdreams.com - I've ordered from them many times and have always been happy. they used to have free shipping too, not sure if they still do or not though. Also, comfortable long johns or bloomers also work well under skirts too.

Not pregnant (right now). I wear knee socks under my skirts & when it's really cold I'll pull on a pair of light weight long johns as well. Heavier weight skirts are warmest as are longer ones.

My hubby calls sockdreams.com sock porn. That's how much I love that site. I'm always on there, moaning over the beautiful legwear (and armwear!).

I knee-high socks, ditto on Target offering great ones and thanks for the Sock Dreams site.

I like to wear my ultra comfy PJ bottoms under long skirts, nobody knows and I am soooo comfortable. I also layer several skirts, not sure if that works well during pregnancy. Leg warmers are hip right now, so have fun with it Hip Mamma!

Thank you so much for the ideas!! (I kept looking for this thread in TAO and then realized I posted it here So sorry for the delay in responding.)

I do like target for socks (-: Hopefully with some holiday money I can buy a new skirt or two. I never seem to find skirts at thrifts shops, at least not ones that aren't mini skirts. (I love mini skirts, over jeans. but obviously that's not an option right now.) And I will definitely be looking at sockdreams. That sounds awesome.

I seem to do pretty well wearing the same thing all. the. time. so I guessing I can get away with just two or three skirts for now. And at least for the next two or three months I shouldn't need new shirts. (Long sleeve shirts that actually fit my arm length never cover my waist so I tend to wear long tank tops underneath them. So that should be good for a while.)

Thanks again for the tips!!
