I'm looking for ideas for lessons for a 2.5-year-old who will be 3 when her big sister starts kindergarten. (and thus will be gone for the day at school) She's got her colors down and she loves the ABC song. She is read aloud to many times a day. I'm looking for some hands-on, fun lessons for her to learn things like shapes, alphabet, and numbers. I slip in information on those topics while we play with shapes or alphabet blocks, etc. but would like something structured that we can repeat. Thanks! :)

I guess lessons was the wrong word, educational games and the like is more what I'm looking for. Definitely something interactive so she can apply what she's learning more than she can with the ABC song.<br><br>
That game looks really cool! She always wants to get involved when her sister plays Candy Land but is too young.<br><br>
I just looked it up on Amazon and if you buy it between now and May 14th you get a coupon for a free 16 x 20 inch poster from Shutterfly! (it looks like many other things will earn this coupon code too) I'm going to think about it for a couple days but it sounds like a good buy!

We just got this so I haven't made any of the activities yet. But some of the ideas look like things my 2.5 year old would really like.

As Rikki said starfall.com for letters and colors if you are allowing her to use the computer. I think children can learn a lot by just being read to and extending the picture book with discussion about the colors letter and shapes. Also, I think the library story time is a great place for learning preschool skills including social skills.<br><br>
I am using the site Preschool Express to help me come up with ideas. I really like the monthly calendar of activitiy ideas.<br><br><a href="http://www.preschoolexpress.com/" target="_blank">http://www.preschoolexpress.com/</a><br><br>
Here is a fun list of Spring nature activities. You could follow this site and do some of the Fall activities when your older daughter goes to school in September<br><br><a href="http://www.backyardnature.net/101/spring.htm" target="_blank">http://www.backyardnature.net/101/spring.htm</a><br><br>
