Let's get cloth featured on Oprah!

I got this idea from thebabywearer.com...

Let's get the word out about cloth! What better way than to have it on Oprah-she has maybe the largest mama viewing audience! The more people that request it, the more likely it will be featured!

I always thought it was a good idea - best way I can think to do it is to find a celebrity who uses them to start talking about them. Anyone here famous???

Oprah really seems to like success stories of women making good money from an innovative idea. Maybe some of the hyena WAHMs could write in?

I'm not a hyena WAHM (why, I don't know, my dipes truly ROCK), but I wrote in. I would SOOO Love it if Oprah did a show on CDs

I wrote in requesting a show on cloth diapers and the wonderful WAHMS that make such wonderful product.
Lets keep it up and see if we can't get a CD show aired in the future.

I wrote in too, focusing on the environmental benefits of CD & also on the WAHMs who make it possible. C'mon ppl, let's have more write-ins!

I wrote in. I mentioned FB since they are so popular (and I

them). I also mentioned that there are many WAHMs and gave a link to this page. I did a general plug for APing and I had to mention some of my favorite sling WAHMs... Kozy, Hotslings, KK.

I'm wrote in too, all about how we switched, how cloth was so much better than I thought it would be and it is not the diapers like or grandmas used, and then about the health benefits... Great idea! Oh man, it would be so exciting to hear back from them!

I think you have to be more elusive and keep people waiting longer to be hyena. You are too efficient and always have WAAAYYY too many of your awesome AIOs in stock.

I would love to see a show about cloth, but I'd also LOVE to see a show about WAHM's and WAHD's. How they have found niche markets that the big corporations overlooked/didn't want to get into, how their products REALLY take off, the incredible craftsmanship and quality of the products - not just cloth diapers, but baby carriers, soap, all SORTS of things.

I have written in several times in the past, espcially touting the WAHM aspect of the cloth diaper part, as she seems really focused on women who make money in non-mainstream ways. However she has promoted some really ap un-friendly products on her show. She also did a huge profile of the baby einstein video maker, and another mom who makes her own cleaning products and has made some good money, so she has focused on WAHM's just not cd WAHM's.
By the way Neil Bortz mentioned that he thinks people who use disposable diapers are lazy and cloth diapers should be used. He is a conservative talk radio host ( I don't listen to him, but my dh does ). I e-mailed him asking him to elaborate on that subject and gave him more information on it. Including that I think the disposable diaper industry should be held responsible for footing their portion of landfill bills and problems, given the fact that 1 ton of diapers per year per child is dumped in the landfills.
It would be cool if Oprah could pick up on the environmental aspect as well.

Wouldn't it be great if she bought a butt-load of WAHM diapers to hand out to the audience?

I definitely think if Oprah promoted cd'ing, more people would try it.

Oh my I can see it now..it would be nearly impossible to get your favorite hyena dipes if every mom in America was using cloth..it's just us on the boads now and it's hard enough....are you guys crazy :LOL

Great idea, I too have tried hitting the WAHM aspect wiht her. but hey its worth a shot again!!!!
