Here's mine

Prefolds, with microfleece liners on top of them to save space. Under the shade of the tree are the FB's, to save them from direct AZ sun which, believe it or not, fades them even when hung inside out. These dry within an hour on the hottest days.
Faster than my dryer.

I need to figure out how to rig up a closeline that our HOA won't object to.....Thanks for adding something to my to-do list Darshani!

Could you put up a retractable clothes line? I have one that winds up to almost nothing and it's totally inconspicous when not in use.
I'm jealous...I don't have a cloths line *pout* but hubby is getting me one of those umbrella ones (they are the only ones allowed by our HOA)
With our HOA, if it is a temporary structure and hangs below the fance line where it can't be seen, it's okay. Drying racks, or a retractable clothesline both fit the bill, but they don't like the umbrella types for some reason. Mine is just a clothesline that I tied to the playset and looped it around the tree to tie to the other side. It can be easily removed but so far no one has complained.

Nice bunch o' dipes Amma! I have a permanent structure. It was the first thing I painted when we moved in
I have always had a line, even in apartments. Love those crunchy jeans :LOL

Here's what's on the line today... it's cotton day, so cotton pockets, fitteds, various inserts and one lone HH that snuck in with the others via the poop pail

Here's mine from this morning Mostly flats and prefolds for pockets and a few fitteds. Dry in no time except when the boy decides to spray everything with the hose!
Karen,
I have backyard envy AND closeline envy - both your yard and your closelines are things of beauty!

Wow you have a beautiful yard. That is such a cute, old-fashioned photo.

Ladies
Must give my dh credit here as he built our deck, play box, garden arch and my clothes line for me plus he does most of the gardening, growing the trees from cuttings or seeds! Now he is building a play set for ds too. Yes, I think I will keep him

I actually love AZ (in Ontario now) as my parents live there. We were there this past winter too and we loved it!

well those photos convinced me - i'm drying my dipes outside tomorrow - just so i can have a similar view - i hope it's sunny! i'll take a pic if it is!
grrrrrrrrrrr

I been after dh for weeks to set up a line for me........

Im jealous, ladies. :nana:
I'd get one for you - but my line broke the other day - it's one of those square ones that fold down like an umbrella - one "arm" bent and broke. Guess we had too much on there. Dh just put up a new one for me tonight though so maybe I can use it tomorrow when I wash dipes
I LOVE line drying!!

Wow, my dreams are simple
. To have a clothes line in my own backyard! I'm in an apartment and have no where to put one.

One day...

a clothesline would be nice but in florida rainy season I am not sure it would be practical. if it didn't rain one day the air is still so humid I don't think it would dry all the way. Hmm I will have to experiment

I remember in India, where there were no dryers. There were about 3 days of heavy rain and during that time clotheslines appeared strung across the livingroom and kitchen. The clothes had to hang for a good 24 hours to get even close to dry, then they were ironed to remove any remaining moisture. Since it took so long for the clothes to dry, they were hanging constantly for all three days and we were ducking our heads to get under them, and having convesations across bras and undies. :LOL

I was SO glad I brought flats to India. I am not a fan of flat diapers but I can't imagine how long prefolds would take to dry in that weather, much less hemp. Maybe that's one reason that most of the labor class/rural people didn't use diapers on their babies except for traveling on a train or bus. They were allowed to run around naked and if they pooped or peed on the floor it was wiped up and no one really batted an eye. When Abi pooped on the floor there a couple of times people chuckled about how healthy she was.

I have tile flooring but I just can't see that happening in my house. Maybe next summer when she's 2.5, if she's interested in potty learning.
