uhmm i usually stuck to dress pants and a nice top. Not a whole "suit", but just business casual.

But if you do go the dress route, don't go above the knee Good Luck, you'll do great

My last one, I wore a longish black wool skirt, a white dress shirt, and a denim jacket...and my best pair of boots. (real f-me boots, they make me feel powerful, sexy and strong, a three inch heal with half an inch or so of platform.)

Before that, khaki trousers, and a blue sweater twin set... that matches my eyes, penny loafers and pearls.

I concentrate on having PERFECT make up, hair, and very clean, conservative/stylish/professional upper body. I make sure my hands are well lotioned, and my nails are clean, not polished or barely polished and NEAT! Your face, your upper body and your hands are what the judge sees.

*it was really hard for the judge to believe my former spouse when he said I was a druggie, unstable, irresponsible, and not the semi professional, polished educated mom I presented in court.(and the judge even said it in his opinion statement)*

Last time was almost 3 years ago so I don't remember exactly what I wore. I imagine it was black dress pants and some sort of top. This next time (if we end up there next month) will probably be a pair of black dress pants and a purple and silver button up shirt. Last time ex showed up in a nasty t-shirt and jeans that were so baggy they were falling off his butt. Real good impression on the judge :

I didn't have to go to court. I don't know why not - I just went to my lawyer's office and signed the papers.

Good luck - you'll be great.

My attorney advises her clients to not wear anything they will be remembered for. Last time I wore a mid-length black skirt and a white blouse with a crocheted neckline and black wedge loafers with cut-outs. I made sure to wear complimentary, but understated, jewelry to look that little bit more put together. It was a hearing in which we were pleading my relative poverty, though, so I didn't want to look too fancy : .

Boobybunny, you're an old hand at this, I know. Your advice about really pulling together your upper body is great, and I know I'll be putting more effort into hair and makeup if there is a next time.
