Normally I eat very well, mostly a veggie diet, but not since getting pg! In the beginning I really wanted meat, I usually only eat poultry a couple times a week, if that, suddenly I was eating it 3 times a day. I'm finally off my meat kick, now the thought of it grosses me out. Nothing sounds good to eat, I hunt for every meal thinking about what is the least likely to gross me out. I have no cravings, but am so hungry all the time, eating just feels like a chore, and this coming from someone who loves her food. I'm down from eating veggies several times a day to a couple times a week, none of them appeal to me. I had m/s really early on, but nothing for the last 3 weeks so that's not it. I'm really hoping this phase ends soon, I want to be able to enjoy my food again. What's everyone else's diet like?

All sweets, all the time, I'm a carb-a-holic! I am consuming MASS quantities of fruit, of all things. Probably 3-5 apples, oranges, pears, clumps of grapes every day. Plus toast, bagels with butter, chips, the occasional grilled cheese. We had falafel last night which went down great, vs. the time we had baked chicken breast and I could barely choke down a couple of bites. Lunch yesterday was Campbell's Chunky Vegetable Beef, which was awesome except that I couldn't TOUCH the beef chunks.

Salad is still a challenge, but after a few restaurant salads where ranch dressing made it DELISH () I'm finding that it's mostly the vinaigrette that's turning me off -- I dressed last night's salad in leftover yogurt sauce from the falafel, and didn't have too much trouble with it.

Yesterday after work I had some tortilla chips with salsa that were so incredibly delicious I was dancing around the kitchen.

Yesterday I ate a bagel with butter, some cheese and crackers, wheat thins and some manderin oranges. All of this was before 6 pm. After that I am lucky if I can brush my teeth without gaging. I seem to have "night sickness". I wake up feeling pretty good, breakfast is easy to eat. Today I had one egg and 2 buckwheat frozen waffles. I was very proud of myself. Basically all I want are carbs, cheese and some fruit. As the day goes on I get more tired, the headache gets worse and the nausea really kicks in. I am just over 9 weeks.

I am struggling mentally and emotionally with the whole food thing. It sucks when you sit there with food in front of you, knowing that you should eat it. So you put it in your mouth and all you want to do is spit it out! Sometimes I do, sometimes I quickly wash it down with water. Ahhhhh but I remember the days when food was enjoyable and easy to eat. I am sure I will turn a corner here soon. And I need to keep reminding myself of the little baby that took over 2 years to conceive, it all makes it worth while. That and a good cry session usually does the trick!

I was craving all things bread and cheese so i decided to cut out bad carbs and sugar for a few weeks to find out what my body really needed. Our bodies get addicted to bad carbs and sugar because of the way they instantly feed our blood sugar levels. So now a week later i only want fresh fruit, salads, turkey, string cheese.I tried to have a piece of french toast the other day and it was so sweet and gross to me that i went right back to my eggs. And i love french toast!Or i did.I actually had withdrawal from carbs and sugar the first few days.It is so amazing how addictive they are!But also why our country is so obese.I have been eating alot of pickels wrapped in a piece of cheddar cheese

I currently feel pretty good about my food choices. The first few weeks of this pregnancy I was making poor food choices (lots of fast food...yuck) and then I buckled down and I am eating pretty healthily now. I just feel like I am eating all day long but that's the only way to get through the day right now .

I think I'm eating the same stuff I was before pregnancy - with the exception that some things suddenly smell or seem unappealing to me one day (but might appeal the next - who knows). I cooked a fig, orange, wine chicken dish with gnocci that I saw on Racheal Ray the other day - and by the end of the meal, I hated the smell of figs, oranges, and even nutmeg. Even now it makes me sick just thinking about it. Weird food relationships these days.

The last time I went grocery shopping I tried something I was hoping would make a difference AND IT HAS! I decided to buy all the things that seemed appealing while I was there (AND very hungry). Well, I've been able to eat a bit more since that shopping trip than I have since getting preggie!!! Not ALL of the things that seemed good when I went shopping have remained that way the whole time, but I have felt I could tolerate them all at different times! hope that helps.

I'm at a point with the nausea where anything I can eat is good. I surround myself with only healthy options. No sugar, no crap. That way no matter what I eat it's nutritious.
I try and choke down a protein shake per day if I can.

I am rarely able to make myself eat, and when I do it's not usually healthy.

Yesterday I had a handful of tortilla chips (which I later threw up). That's it.

Today so far I've had a quarter of a PB & J sandwich, and a granola bar (which I threw up). I'm really hoping that I'm able to eat dinner tonight (and keep it down), but I'm not holding my breath.

Glad to hear that I'm not alone, misery loves company. I'm so tired of this, being so hungry all the time (I literally eat every hour) but nothing "hits the spot". I walk through the grocery store looking for anything that might look good, I've been spending hours going through cook books, trying to find any recipe that I might choke down. Fruit and pickles are the things that I've been able to tolerate the best, but without carbs, I'm hungry in another 5 minutes. I rarely eat junk food, and haven't for months, sugar is a big turn off for me right now. DH made a cake the other night, I had to burn incense so I couldn't smell it cooking. I'm a picky eater to begin with, this is just making it impossible. : I'm getting pissy just thinking about dinner in a couple hours, poor dd, she hasn't had a real meal in weeks.

I agree eating seems like a chore these days. Despite the hunger, nothing sounds good. Then sometimes I get excited when something goes down good and actually tastes ok, but it'll get me back 10 minutes later and I'll feel sick!

I feel bad about feeding my DD too, because on somedays I can't bring myself to prepare real food and she eats mostly noodles all day. ACK!

I see the accupuncturist tomorrow and I'm praying that it will help. I've got nausea, but it's never the same day to day so I never know what to expect.

Good luck to you ladies, I hope everyone is feeling better soon!

Oh the cheeseburgers...And the chocolate milk!!! I am still feeling soooo nauseous all day that I am ready to cry. For the past week or so I have been eating a cheeseburger (or two...) every.single.day. I am NOT kidding! I have not eaten red meat since I was a little kid...I told myself toight that I must need more protein and that I will try to up my intake without supporting Burger King any more than I already have these past couple weeks. A freind who is a midwife told me a nursing Mama needs a LOT more protein when she is nursing and pregnant so maybe that's where my cheseburger necessity is coming from? My poor dh, he had to go out in the cold weather tonight for my burgers with extra pickles! For those who had morning sickness before, when does it END? I didn't have it last time at all...

I'm nearly at 10 weeks, and I think my morning sickness is finally ending. With my first pregnancy, it lasted until week 14, but this time has been much worse intensity-wise.

For the past month, I've been existing mainly on saltines and applesauce. This week, I finally feel like eating again. I'm still having trouble with meats and certain veggies, but I can now eat a few bites of them instead of gagging at the mere thought of them. I'm thrilled that I finally feel well enough to cook again, because my husband and daughter have been eating crappy convenience food while I couldn't.

I am pretty much eating what tastes good and I can stomach. I am not puking, just really queasy now and then. I have found that I really want dairy, probably because I have been off it for almost a year because of my DD- nursing. One day I ate a large portion of Newman's sandwich cookies and since can't stand the sight of them. I too look forward to when I want to eat more veggies. They are a staple of my diet! Oddly enough I am eating far fewer sweets than normal. I usually want lots of dark chocolate, but since have not wanted any or coffee for that matter. Makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one with a strange food relationship. Can't remember having this problem with my DD, but I was also working full time and so busy that I think I just ignored it.

I'm about 10 weeks along and have been sooooo very sick with extreme, 24 hour a day nausea, and occasional vomiting (about once a day). It has really been limiting my abilities to function (especially when trying to care for a toddler). I was sick with my DD until my sixth month, but this time it is even worse so far so I'm not sure how long it will last for. At least it sounds like I am not alone. It has really been bringing me down . . . just feeling so sick all the time. I constantly make these gagging and retching motions too -- so gross. I often don't want to be around other people.

As for food, my normally (relatively) healthy diet has gone out the window. Often the only thing that helps me is to get something in my stomach. Carbs, sugar, dairy -- mainly "white" foods, with a little color thrown in for good measure (i.e. generic fruit loops!) My diet is totally disgusting, but I literally gag when I try to eat salad or vegetables. Even thinking about them makes me want to hurl . . . I've even been to MacDonalds twice -- and I HATE that place! I feel like a total hypocrite, but I also feel like my body has been possessed once again by the horrible "all-day-sickness" demon and there is very little I can do. I'm in survival mode and just trying to take it one day at a time . . . I know it will pass eventually. But, man, does it suck right now!

I'm having a much harder time eating these past 2 weeks (8th week and now 9th week). Where my m/s mostly hit me after 4 the two weeks prior, I now wake up with it and it stays with me all day, increasing in intensity throughout the day (yuck...) typically culminating with :puke
I have THE hardest time deciding what to even eat and I've been in my nightgown for three days straight (somebody help me .)

Honestly, my diet this time around really sucks. I really need to work on changing this. I don't feel I eat enough.

For breakfast I am trying to eat a bowl of frosted mini wheats cause it has like 90grams (grams???) of iron. An egg and a glass of orange juice. I just keep seem to be missing the egg. Then I eat nothing till lunch. Sandwich usually. Then dinner is hit or miss. SOmetimes I end up "taking a nap" at 6pm and not waking up till 2am. lol I swear I spend more time sleeping than anything.

I seem to have a lot of food aversions this time. We used to LOVE Quiznos. Now, I can't even stand the thought. I had dh get me a salad last time. Couldn't even eat the chicken in it. Just wanted the veggies and lettuce. I seem to really be LOVING fruits and veggies. Only... I am too lazy to actually go in there and cut them up myself. I think I need to buy some premade things of cut of fruit and veggies.

The thought of any kind of burger makes me about want to hurl. I really do seem to be drawn to healthier foods. Well... and jolly ranchers. lol

I am loving eating yogurt in the morning though.

I just need a personal servent to just sit here and wash and cut fruits and veggies for me.

Where is my grape guy? lol
