Let's Talk Snooty Baby Clothes

I'm having a hard time finding baby clothes I want to buy. Right now I am grabbing a few gender neutral used sleepers. But after the babe is born, I want some REALLY great stuff. I want things that you can't find at Wal-Mart, you know?

Let me clarify. Nothing too deliriously complicated. Just simple, colorful, maybe organic, boutique like (but not stuffy) items. Stuff that you don't find everywhere. Natural fibers would be great. But if I DO find anything really great, it seems to also come with a $50 price tag.

There are such great things out there for girls. Simple peasant tops and kimonos. But I am assuming this is a boy. While I have found a couple of kimono outfits for a boy, the price is SO prohibitive.

And I am REALLY particular about the condition of used things. I am so leery about eBay!

HELP!!! I need links to places that carry MORE than just a few tie dyed or catch phrase shirts for boys. I can find those all over. I need full outfits, pants, shorts, etc.. Simple but awesome stuff like kimono outfits in boy colors that also aren't $50 a pop!

there is an amazing sale over at www.janieandjack.com

I LOVE their stuff!!!
Hanna Andersson- The sales can be decent and the resale value is fantastic!
60% off both sites! It would be handy to know what I am having to catch those sales.
LOVE this http://www.sckoon.com/er-zencl.html
And I can see this top over cutie patootie diaps when you're hanging out at home http://www.sckoon.com/er-orco57.html
Not in your ddc but check out Zutano brand - very cute boy and gender neutral items.
These clothes are GORGEOUS. I've bought them both new and used on Ebay, and they are so soft and lovely. They run quite large, so be warned. They also have lots of GN stuff.

Kate Quinn I'd seen before and forgotten. I LOVE THEIR STUFF!!!!
I love our kate quinn stuff too...but really beware...the run REALLY BIG...we got a bunch for Jack about 6 months ago and he is just now fitting into it
So what would the 0-3 months be in normal sizes? 3-6 or 6-9? Or bigger?!

I would love to have a couple of winter things on hand or order a few right away when baby's born.
I don't own anything that small, but maybe this will help (?).

I got some pants for DD that were 12 months. They fit until she was 18 months, with room still in the seat but getting really short in the legs. Her 18 month stuff is still roomy now at 21 months.

The best thing is that they're really roomy in the bum so they fit over cloth dipes so well.
not in your DDC either, but I saw this in newposts.

try etsy.com mama (or daddy)-made clothes, sometimes custom, fun stuff from a wide range of vendors. you can also find people who make baby announcements, toys, baby carriers, and basically anything else you can think of.
oh my! I am in LOVE with the Kate Quinn stuff! I am a sucker for all things organic. And I am swooning over this: http://www.katequinnorganics.com/esh...category_id=83

I am so with you Gina Rae! Lat baby here so I am trying to get some things that I always skipped because I thought it was best to be overwhelmingly frugal and granted it IS but I really want to get some nice stuff as a treat for me and Cora...I agree about Etsy.com...I look there for ALL kinds of stuff....currently looking for a diaper bag but it has VERY cool stuff all handmade etc so pretty original. I am definetly gonna hop on some Hanna sales and that sckoon site is really cool. ANother good place is ALWAYS Hyena Cart for cute Mama made clothes.

I just discovered those sckoon people too. Actually the cheapest I've found them is on Amazon. Still expensive, but more reasonable than boutique sites. I put that monkey pants outfit on my registry just for fun.

Also check out http://www.hugewonder.com, there's some cool slogan type tees/onesies in black and organic, like The Breastfed Club, Give Peas a Chance, and there are matching pants & hats too. They're all on sale for like $15 now.

kimono outfits are really cheap in chicago's chinatown, but you probably don't live there. there is also a website that has chinatown like stuff for pretty low prices;
http://www.pearlriver.com

other sites i have bookmarked where the prices are not ridiculous but definitely higher than target (more like $18-30 range);

My favorite site so far has been Tinybirdorganics.com Theres a great variety of things there, wool and organic cotton and fair trade. I dont know how you feel about wool, but I'm in love with everything Disana makes! They have the cutest knitted wool overalls and more. What I like about Disana is that its really well made and durable, lots of these pieces will fit for a while in different ways, so I can buy less and use it more. The prices are a little high but still reasonable, I also found their clothes and diaper covers on Greenmountaindiapers.com- my other favorite site!
