Hello all!
My household of 8 people have been taken over by the demon known as lice.
Sigh. I've done all of the recommendations (cleaning, vacuuming, etc) and so far so good. I did resort to the nix without any problems but our public health nurse recommends another nix treatment 7 days later. As I think one is enough for us I plan on doing the grease/suffocate-the-bastards for the 7 day treatment. Now, my question is, do I have to use olive oil? Can I use canola oil? Its soooo much cheaper than olive or mayo. Anyone try it?

You really do not have do a 7 day treatment unless you have nits or lice per a head check.

We did the "lice dance" a couple of years ago. After trying MANY things, the only thing I can recommend is to COMB, COMB, COMB. They sell very fine toothed METAL (plastic ones break too easily) combs made just for this purpose (right next to the lice "chemicals"...which didn't work anyways). Wet and condition the hair and sit and comb away in sections every night for a week.
