3 weeks today! Today was my first day leaving her alone at all. I was out at an appointment for about 2 hours, and dad held down the fort. I thought about driving to Mexico, but I came back. I don't know what the heck he did, but she took an almot 4 hour nap after chowing on two bottles of EBM. I'm hoping that doesn't mean she wants to party all night.

Photo from today: http://www.damnhandy.com/photos/index.php?showimage=159

This is probably my favorite so far, from last week: http://www.damnhandy.com/photos/index.php?showimage=155
(she's not that tiny (up to 7, 5 as of Monday), but my husband can't put on a kimono shirt correctly so it looks extra funny)

These babies are all beautiful!!!

On to us ... it turns out our prickly heat rash wash thrush. That explains though why Elliot was getting increasingly uncomfortable, gassy, and spitty. It's funny - all three boys had thrush, and each of them had different symptoms/reactions to it. Go figure. So, we are treating it with major probiotics and cream on the poor rash. I think I have a yeast rash too, or at least the itches from it, but I'm also taking tons of probiotics and love to rinse with diluted apple cider vinegar after using the restroom. I'm hoping to get it under control quickly.

We also went to a D.O. today, to see if she was any less "medical" than our regular family practioner. After waiting over 1 hour 15 minutes to be seen (so frustrating), it turns out she's no less medical than our regular doctor, and we had to pay for her out of pocket because we only have an HMO. : I thought D.O.'s were more natural in their approaches, but appearantly (sp?) not. So, for now we will stick with our family doctor (who seems fine that we don't vax), and ask my mw if we have any "real" questions! But, in the midst of the appointment, she seems to think I have a UTI. Hopefully I'll see my mw tomorrow so I can ask her opinion, because the thought of another round of antibiotics, when I basically abhor them to begin with, is beyond my scope right now. So, it's a bunch of cranberry juice for me!

19 days old here ... and wow! Last night was our first real loooooooong night : He was up every hour wanting to nurse, nurse, nurse ... I felt like mooing by morning Still, when people ask the inevitable "hows he sleeping?" I still feel like I can say pretty darn good for a 2 and half week old baby.

I'm doing okay ... my tailbone is still pretty sore, but not sore all the way up my spine and to the base of my neck anymore (as it was for about 2 weeks after delivery) and sitting on a pillow really seems a small price to pay, you know?

Boo continues to amaze her daddy and I with how well she has adjusted to having a little brother. We keep finding her "gifts" to him - a doll laid in his bed, a stuffed animal beside him in the boppy, etc. Very cute : and what a BIG relief that she is doing so well with this ... I really had a lot of mama-guilt that she would feel abandoned by me, you know? I know she's 4, but she still seems every bit my baby, you know what I mean?

I had a bit of a hormonal morning. I'm not sure if it was the lack of sleep or what, but after taking a shower and looking at my still-looks-pregnant-belly in the mirror I had a case of the MAJOR weepies/I have nothing to wear and I look like a whale. My poor husband : I'm feeling better now, but avoiding mirrors, just in case the weepies are still waiting to pounce

My golly, mamas, what gorgeous kiddos we all have! Seriously! The June 06 ddc must have the cutest babes in the history of MDC (not that I'm biased or anything)

Best Wishes!

Same here...Will is one day older than yours. He was nursing every 45 minutes yesterday and last night, and it looks like more of the same today. A growth spurt maybe????

I get that question and the one that I really find strange from people I don't know is "Is she a good baby?" I am always a little weirded out by that question. I'm not sure what it means. Does it mean: is she sleeping through the night, does she cry a lot, or what?

I wonder if I said no what the reaction would be.

Next time someone asks if she's a good baby you should say "god no, she's awful! you want her?" What kind of questions is "it she a good baby". Dorks.

Ruby is going through some weird cranky all the time phase (except this moment as I write this.... right now she's super happy!). If she's not eating or sleeping she is crying. I hope this passes soon.

ummm...can I get another "amen" to that?!?!? Yeah, that's a tough one alright. I just spent $50 we didn't really have on some new nursing bras and...ahem...controlling underwear so I can at least not feel 5 months pg when I'm out and about. The shower is another matter altogether. God Bless DH too - he loves to lay on my stomach post partum "it's the most comfortable pillow in the world" - it makes me : happy and depressed all at the same time - LOL

Thanks! Our mw's assistant said one day when they were over how it's kind of freaky that we have children that don't really look like us, but look just like each other! And LeighAnne - totally looks like they are thinking "what the heck?!"

And I totally am right there with the tummy and mirrors ... I splurged on some one-size bigger than I usually wear pants, but everything now days is low-rise, so I can't even tuck my tummy in. I have started roller skating, but it's only once a week, so I need to start walking each day and hopefully some yoga or pilates (just dvd though ... like there's ever any time in a day to pop one of those in!).
