Hi ladies,
I just went to the bathroom and found that I have some light red spotting on the tissue. I thought I detected the same thing earlier today. I've didn't experience any bleeding in my previous pregnancy, so I don't know what to think about this. My initial response is to freak out!

I've been working a really heavy schedule the past four days - about nine hours of cooking daily (private chef work), so I've definitely put a strain on my body. Could the spotting be connected somehow?

Looking for any thoughts or advice you can give. I'm out of town right now and won't be able to reach my midwife till tomorrow.

Thanks

i had a little light bleeding like that on 13 w 0 days. i worried and called the OB, who put me in a high risk ultrasound right away, which showed active baby with strong heartbeat and good size. i stopped worrying and stopped bleeding.

still don't know what caused it. i did physically exert myself the day before. carried our almost three year old and pushed her in a stroller all day long on an excursion to the city that included hauling her and stroller on the train, bus and through an assembly hall convention.

also the weekend before my husband and i had a stressful fight. and the morning of, i strained to use the bathroom.

still don't know what if any of that caused the bleeding. but if you are physically tired, i also had that element when it happened to me.

try to take it easy the rest of today and tonight. if it doesn't end today, call your healthcare provider.

I had some mild spotting too earlier. Had an u/s and baby was fine. Of course, I was worried, but everything down there is so swollen and it's easy to irritate your cervix.

Lots of extra blood flow in that area, so it's very easy to break a few blood vessels. Sex, orgasm, physical activity, even possibly straining hard for a BM could cause some light spotting.

If it increases, or if you start cramping, or if you're worried, call your dr.

I had some light spotting too, at about 13 weeks. Had a u/s baby is fine. My placenta is low, which is apparently very common in early pregnancy. It can cause some spotting.

There are plenty of normal causes, and I'm sure you and baby are fine! But if you are worried (like I was) you can have a u/s and see the little bean swimming around and reassure yourself (like I did)
