Those are almost too beautiful to use for their intended purpose!

You've got to tell us more, what fabrics, are the designs appliqued on, etc.

I clicked on the link cause I thought it was something for cloth diapers. Now I"m not sure, and I really don't want to know.

They are pretty though. And whoever they're for, they look comfy.

Aw, thanks mamas

angelcat, they're menstural pads, that's all

These are the fabrics I used:
Top: Organic Velour (a friend dyed it)
Inside: Hemp/Organic Cotton Fleece contoured layers
Backing: Organic Wool Jersey
Appliqué: Wool Felt

The 3 pink and 3 light blue pads are light to medium flow. The 3 purple and 3 dark blue are heavy flow.

They were quite a bit of work to make. I learnt a lot through the process though, and they are super comfy. I made a few more that aren't pictured, including one with a sea horse appliqué that DD (4 years old) has requested me to keep for her

Thanks again mamas :

momoffaith5: They are pretty intensive to make, but it was enjoyable I have no clue even how to price pads like these? For materials alone, I spent about CAD$5 each. I've not come across anyone who sells anything like these.

quietserena: "Pad-Flake"

ColoradoMama: Mama, what sorts of fabric(s) were you thinking of using for the applique?

Wool fleece was easy to work with, but I'm still wondering about long-term durability.

I forgot this question, using Adahy's cloth pad semi-circle pattern, which side does the added layer go on? Facing your skin-or panty? How does that extra layer not shift out?

kimmyjling: I made these with my own pattern.

I love making new patterns. I thought up a really cool one last night. I'm going to have to see if it works out to be as practical as it seems in my head!

I like the ones you make, Kim, especially because you can use fabric scraps for the wings.

Sorry I can't help with Adahy's patterns. I discovered them recently, and am yet to read through them. I would just try it out, and it's likely it'll make sense whilst doing it.

EricaLeigh: I got my organic fabrics from a WAHM several month ago, but she seems to have disappered somewhere. I've been trying to get in touch with her for many weeks now, and no response I really want more O-Wool, but have no clue where to get just a few yards from.

The Wool felt I purchased from the local Waldorf School. There are many great onlne sources of wool felt, especially in the US (the vast majority of wool felts in NA are imported from Europe).

That's what I was afraid of!

As I said, they do look comfy, though. And if they'd wash themselves, I'd consider it. otherwise, just not for me.
