You use a wool liner under a doubler inside of a diaper. It will repel the moisture causing it to go back up into the doubler and absorb to maximum capacity. You definitly want a good, absorbant doubler over the wool liner.

I dont really know about acrylic, not sure if it would work or not but it wouldnt have all of the anitmicrobial benefits of wool.

Would microfleece be considered acrylic? If so, you can make easy homemade microfleece liners since it doesn't need to be sewn. Just cut to the size you want. Microfleece is great for keeping moisture away from baby's bum as well as making it easy for poop cleanup since poop doesn't stick to the fleece. Not to mention, microfleece is super soft.

Fleece liner and wool liners serve a different purpose. Wool liners go under a doubler for causing the doubler to absorb more and fleece liners go on top of the doubler to wick moisture away from babies skin -- both are great though!
