I am sadden that these links are more focused on him doing it to her.<br><br>
I am a woman and I was a verbal and emotional abuser.<br><br>
My dad abused with his fist. My mom did with her words.<br><br>
As wrong as my dad was I sit back and think "What did you expect to happen when you called him a stupid bastard?" "What did you expect when you told him nobody would ever love him?" " What did you expect when you humilated him in public?" I am not trying to justify my dad's behavior but I got to a point in my life that I realize there was two abusers in that relationship. I remember many arguements starting because my mom went into him over something "stupid" he had done.<br><br>
You can go down the list and check most of them on both of my parents. At one point I was one <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">

In the cat box forum there is support for men who were/are being abused verbally and emotionally (and physically).<br><br>
But please, if you see less gender-specific links, feel free to post them.<br><br>

Thank you for posting these! That Dr. Irene site is quite extensive and very informative.<br><br>
My DH is definitely verbally abusive, ugh.
