So if you're doing listening therapy (not music, but listening, with headphones), where did you get the headphones? Those darn things are expensive, and DH is suddenly become all about saving fifteen cents....

I confess to getting them from a friend and never paying her for them <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hide.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hide">: (she didn't ask, as it was a long term 'loan').<br><br>
You might ask your OT if there's someone who's no longer doing the therapy who might sell them to you cheaper. I've looked on Ebay, but they aren't very common.

The OT got us ours from a former family. We still paid I think $100 though. And I've been horrible with follow through and regret the purchase a bit.

i found a site just a few minutes ago where I could get them for $65, but with a certain code from the OT and I think I'd also have to sell my soul, or at least a portion thereof. I have that gut feeling that I NEED to get this started asap, and that it will benefit both of my sensory disordered children, so the urgency is starting to eat at me a little. I've got to order some this week.

Our OT was going to give us a CD and headphones to bring home so I assume you could find something out there.

Our OT will loan us the cd's, but we have to provide our own headphones and cd player.

We already have a pair of really expensive headphones for Dh's radio/tv degree, but they're adult sized, does that matter?

They have to meet certain specs with regards to frequency and ohms. Let me see if I can find a link for you.....<br><br>
No, size itself doesn't matter as long as they'll fit on the kid's head securely.
