I have a question about forming an LLC.

Right now I have 2 businesses. Can I form one LLC and have that cover both businesses?

I've been searching the internet and can't find any info.

ETA: I did finally find the info. You can do the above. You form an umbrella business and that one owns the other others.

Yep, you can do that. I've formed on LLC and have several web businesses under it. I do recommend you consult an attorney to have an LLC filed. It'll be much easier on you and you'll have peace of mind that it was done right.

My LLC work cost between $300 and $500.

I know this question has gone around a lot (at least in other forums I know of), but what does the LLC protect you from, that regular business insurance can't. MY DH looked into it and said that he didn't like the idea because it attached all our other assets to our business.

Forming a LLC seperates your personal assets from you business assets. So only your business assests could be lost during a lawsuit or bankrupcy.
