All of the doctors I have looked into either A) Do not accept new medi-cal patients, or B) have offices that look like old garages. I am expecting in September and do not currently have my great PPO health coverage. So, I will either pay $$$$ to my regular pediatrician <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/crap.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="crap"> or I need to find a competent pediatrician to see the newborn at the hospital.<br><br>
Any referrals/recommendations?<br><br>

I found a Family Practitioner that even let you have (heaven forbid) walk in appointments. Their cash price for office visits was only $45, which is about 1/2 of what they charge the insurance. I'm in Buena Park and they are just down the street. Sometimes the more carring doctors will be working out of the older buildings as well as costing less. Don't let the location frighten you away. All the doctors that I loved worked out of 1940/1950s hole in the wall buildings.
