What do you ladies do about it? It's not long enough to all stay in a low ponytail to the side, but DD love to play with it and pull it out of any elastic.

I can't carry dd in a frame backpack because with her that high, there's no way I can keep her hands out of it. But in the Ergo, she's low enough that a bun does the trick.

Ditto here. I will often just keep it down. If it is up she will often grab the little tiny hairs at the bottom and boy does that hurt. I will also put it up in a claw clip. But have to be careful not to bump her face on it when I am putting her on my back.

high bun ought to do the trick. my hair's really long, so i usually do a braid off to the side so it's totally out of the way, but a bun works too when i tire of having the same hair-do day after day <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

I wear hoodies when I have my toddler on my back. There are even sleeveless shirts with hoods, I think I need to invest in some for summer! Hoodies keep your hair totally safe.

I usually just leave my hair down. If I put my hair up, she just takes it down for me. I guess I'd rather she pulls on the hair than the long earrings, anyway.
