I realize this is a long shot, but I figured it was worth a try...

I'm trying to lure my parents up to my neck of the woods. My mom's parents are pretty dependent on her, so they would have to come too.

Long story short, they would need someplace very affordable, preferably a senior rental community with transportation available. Alpharetta would be ideal b/c my uncle lives there, and would be able to help with them. My poor mom has been waiting on them hand and foot for the past 10 years, so I would LOVE to see some of the burden come off of her shoulders.

They don't need assisted living at this point, and frankly, can't really afford it either, so I'm trying to find something that would be classified as "active adult" or "independent living".

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to reply- I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, the Orchards properties seem to be homes which are sold, not rented. The Belmont one was one we actually checked into, but they were waaay out of their price range- I seem to remember it being several thousand $ /mo. They need something with less service, and closer to $1000/mo.

We did find one in Buford called Huntington Court, which is pretty close to ideal except for the location. It's a good backup though.

Thanks again.

I am in a choir that sometimes sings at these type places. We'll be doing it again in the next couple of weeks, so I'll report back on the places we go.

My grandparents live at a place in Duluth called Delmar Gardens. They seem to like it (they're not thrilled with having to be anywhere but home) and I know my mom is pleased with it. It's not exactly close, but might be worth checking out. My kids love it b/c they have indoor and outdoor pools and families are welcome to use those!
