Hey, y'all.

I just began EC with my then 3 month old 3 weeks ago. We're getting better at catching her pees--we're now up to 7-8 a day--and we almost always get her poops.

I was wondering about the time between pees. I read somewhere that babies pee about 18-20 times a day when they are newborn. At what age does that number start to go down?

Right now we are usually getting the right after sleep pee, the right after feeding pee, and we are trying for the 15-minutes-later pee. At what age does that 15-minutes-after-feeding stretch to 30 minutes or more later?

Thanks for any help!

I don't keep track either, EC'd both kids. It does happen though, that it gets longer between pees, you'll know it when you see it! I am sure every kiddo is different. Mine sure are!

Depends on the kid, but with mine I recall around six months it started improving. But then we started solids at 7 months or so and that screwed it all up again.

Um... I was supposed to remember that?

I have no idea. But it DOES happen! I remember actually a few distinct times when he went through some developmental changes and had some noticeable elimination pattern changes. But a lot of it was gradual, too.

It'll happen. Really. And you'll figure out when it does.

Honestly, I think it's to gradual to notice. Also, it totally depends on the time of day for us. My ds is about 10 months and in the morning he pees every 15-20 minutes. In the evening it's more like 30-45 minutes. Sometimes, if he hasn't been thirsty enough to nurse for a while, he'll go like an hour or hour and a half.

LOL. I guess I'm too obsessive about it. I've relaxed a bit, stopped counting and timing, and things are going okay. We miss plenty of pees, but that's probably because I keep her in diapers between and I forget to take her. I'm fine with that, because I get almost every poop--I am sure she prefers to do that in the toilet, so she will wait an extra five minutes for me to get her there.

Thanks!
