I'm in Apopka, near the Lake/Orange line, so my suggestions may be a bit too far for you. Also, you should know that my baby isn't due til April, so I haven't had experience with getting care in any of these practices, just research and conversations.

I haven't met Dr.Cannizzarro yet, but my chiro recommended that practice-she's non-vaxing and uses them for her daughter. We met recently with Dr. Rodriguez, who is in Maitland, near I4, who we liked, and who was very up front about vaccinations-he doesn't routinely do Rotovirus for his vaxing patients, he won't discharge for not vaxing, and if you want to delay/selectively vax, he just asks for a written copy of whatever schedule you want to use. (Side note-I do know that a lot of the Heart 2 Heart Birth Center people go to Dr. Rodriguez for the first newborn evaluation-he'll take them as walk ins if its during normal hours, and suggests that you call if it's not during normal hours because he'll sometimes come in on the weekends to see you for a first evaluation anyway.)

The other names that come up regularly in conversations with people are Dr. Franz, who is down in Orlando, I think, and Dr Ramey, who is in Oviedo. If I live closer to 46, I'd think about going to Oviedo, but that's just too far for me to go with a sick child.

My Doula suggests Dr Ramey (who I know far less about) or Dr Rodriguez, depending on your location. We discussed all four of the ones on the list I had and her feelings abut Dr Franz and Dr Cannizzarro were that they were both very good at what they do and worked well with patients and parents but both of them are getting to a point where their practice is larger than they can really handle and people aren't really getting the same personal attention and care that they do in the smaller practices.

We haven't yet had the need for a pediatrician...I'm not due til April, so I can only share what I've been told. Good luck.

I'm not entirely sure what we'll do.
