Hi!! My sister-in-law is now exclusively breastfeeding but would like to go back to work part-time in the next few months. Any suggestions for a good bottle/nipple she could use so she can pump and still provide breastmilk????? Her son seems to be refusing the bottles she tries at this time so she has been trying different types. Thank you!!!!!!!!

I also used Avent bottles and there's the bottle that looks like a breast...can't think of the name right now. Anyone? I think I saw it on www.onestepahead.com

Also if *she* is trying to give him a bottle he may refuse it because he knows that she has the better goods. :LOL Suggest she try having someone else give him a bottle with her not in sight (or smell) of her baby.

Good luck to her and what a great mama for continuing to breastfeed.

Whin I went bact to work, I had to figure out what bottle worked out best for Kelsey. We tried about 5 before we settled on the Ventaire. It's not the best if you are worried about nipple confusion, but if the option is a non optimal bottle or a hungry baby what do you do? Although sice she still nurses ALOT at 14 mos, I guess she figured it out OK.

I think it depends on the child. Originally, we had used Avent and they worked fine. But then I didn't leave ds for a couple months, and now the only way you can feed him if I'm not around is to spoon-feed him breastmilk. The spoon dumps the milk in his mouth before he can object to the "foreign object" (aka spoon) and then he swallows the milk. My DH and MIL tried everything, short of buying every nipple on the market (which wasn't worth it since he was 8 months old and I don't leave him very often).

we also used avent. I pumped with the isis and used the avent bottles for over a year, it worked out really well for us.

i also got the "breast" thing from one step ahead, but dh didn't want to mess with the system that was working out / read instructions, so it sat there for almost two years and we just recently got rid of it. but it looked / felt pretty neat.

My older 3 kids all used orthodontic nipples, and they prefered silicon to latex. My little dd would only use the clear silicon playtex nipple that looks similar to the Avent nipple, but is softer. We tried just about every other nipple on her and that was the only one she would accept. She was never crazy about bottles, and gave them up entirely at daycare at 10 mos. Now she drinks from a cup only when I'm gone.
