Hi! I am looking for a GOOD wooden toddler table that will comfortabley suit my 19 month old. We are using a lot of the Montessori concepts with my son and a nice table is a necessity for us. I found the one in the Michael Olaf catalog (14" tall) but I had really hoped for one around 15 - 16" tall so that we had a little growing room.

I have searched all over the internet and can not find anything that seems to match my description. I was hoping that mabey someome could help point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Have you an ikea in your area? I think they are doing online sales also at www.ikea.com. We love, or should say our ds loves, his table and chair set...the model is the svala...only $29 but you do have to assemble and stain, of course.

We have an ikea table and it's great. Not sure what the model is, but it's white and has a matching bench. I think the table was $40 and the bench $20. We have it in the living room and it looks really nice--not like kids' furniture. HTH!

we got one at an unfinished furniture place in our area, C J Woodmaster. it's solid wood, which i really appreciate. might be a leeetle tall for a 19 mo old, but he's only gonna grow, right? the one we got is round with 2 wooden chairs, but i think they had rectangular ones, too. i'd check the unfinished furniture places in your area. even if you're not into the staining and finishing a lot of times those places will do it for you. i think i've seen our table for sale in pottery barn kids or some other catalog for about twice what we paid.

I've been really happy with the chairs and tables I've gotten from
http://www.communityplaythings.com They're mostly designed for schools, but they have a lot of choices in table height and chairs. The me-do-it chairs were great young toddler chairs. Their stuff is rock solid. Pricy, but I'm planning on a long time of use for these...I didn't want something I'd just throw out in a couple of years.

I noticed that Target has the table and chairs we have on sale this week for a pretty reasonable price. (Wooden, white legs and chair back, natural wood tabletop and chair seats.) We've been really happy with them. Dd is a tall 2.5 year old, so I'm not positive the height will be right for your 19mo, but it's worth a look.

I'm ordering a toddler table from this company: http://www.lordequip.com/ Kinda pricey but not any more than Michael Olaf and they look beautiful.

We use the Montessori method, too. Have you read the new Paula Polk Lillard zero to three book? Great book.
