Looking for a no vax friendly pediatrician in or near Dutchess County

And it would be gravy if they're cool with extended breastfeeding and cosleeping. Anyone? Also would love to chat with anyone in the area anyway, cuz I'm new here!

We really like our ped in Newburgh, if that's close enough. We had one in Hyde Park who tolerated us, but it was clear that she strongly disagreed on the vax issue. PM me if you'd like more specifics.

I have one in Poughkeepsie. Love him. Last week my 20 month old dd had an extremely deep, huge and horrible splinter in her foot that he took out and the word "tetanus" never passed his lips... PM me for more info

Where do you go? I vax personally, but I love a good friendly open minded doc!

Dr. Malak at TLC Pediatrics. Can't speak for the rest of the MD's in the practice... we will only see him!

I don't know if anyone is still watching this thread. But I had pretty much a stand off with my ped in Hyde Park about vaxes at the last visit*. I admit that I did not do enough vax related research when we chose them. Sigh. But I want to switch. I heard good things about TLC, but when I was looking at their website, it now states that it is practice policy to not accept new patients who want to defer vaccinations. I am in POK and am looking for someone fairly close. Newburgh would be too far IMO. Any help is appreciated.

* It was the 2mth WBV, Spencer was almost 10 weeks. When I asked for inserts, she told me to check the internet!! Then said that they get it is such bulk that she could not give it to me.

I have not considered a family practice and now that you point it out, I am not opposed to it at all. It would be wonderful if we could find someone that will see us all and really get to know us as a family. Do you have suggestions?

I would call to get an appointment with Dr. Malak anyway... maybe their site says that because they have to. Like I said, I don't know if the entire practice is in-line with his POV; we'll only see him
