Here's what we have: a 2yo with loooooong skinny feet, already outgrowing his size 8 See Kai Runs (length-wise! width-wise his feet still flop around in them). He also has some significant pronation, more on his left than his right (but some on both).

I have no idea what to look for in shoes for him. Generally, I'd be entirely in favor of totally-flexible shoes still for a 2yo (ideally, he wouldn't have even started on the SKR-style until recently, but did I mention his feet are hugely long?), but I'm not sure if that's still best with the pronation.

Any thoughts? Recommendations for flexible shoe brands for long skinny feet in size 9+? Research saying he needs to be in non-flexible shoes, or any research on how best to shoe true pronation in toddlers? Any been there done that support? (Not expected the BTDT, his feet are fabulously freakish

What other brands have you tried? Although SKR aren't technically wide shoes, they are pretty close. They are much wider than other standard toddler shoes.

Since we are going into Spring and Summer how would you feel about something like this? http://www.striderite.com/shopping/p...967&sColor=408 This is a fairly open shoe, doesn't require a sock, and provides more support which he may need because of the pronation. My DS can wear these and SKR without an issue.

I just realized that these only go to an 8 but they have something similar in the boys area.

My son has similar issues with shoes. He outgrew his Pedipeds in length while they still were falling off his feet. We are having good luck with Pedoodles. The toe box is roomy, but they fit nice and snug around the instep.

I'm not sure which is the best type of shoe for pronation issues, but as far as shoes that will fit him Soft Star Shoes may be an option. They go up to size 13.They will custom make shoes to be whatever width you need and you can even send in a foot tracing if your child has really hard to fit feet. I just oredered my first pair and they were super nice when I emailed them some questions.
