Hi,

My boys and I are new to home schooling and are looking for other HS families. I subscribe to Mothering and more of a natural family living style so we are hoping to connect with other like minded families. I thought this would be the best place to search for that!

I posted about this a while ago and only found a few links to groups. I'm north of Seattle in the Mill Creek area and have an almost 5 year old that we are going to start "formally" I guess you'd say looking in to starting homeschool with. I have no clue even where to start aand haven't had much luck finding anyone here on mothering which suprises me.

The problem I think is that I don't live IN Seattle! And it's too far to commute for me on a regular basis

Have you joined the seattle homeschool group? Its non denominational and really active. there are also other offshoots for different parts of the city and different age groups.

We're plannign to homeschool, but my LO is only 2.5yo, so at this point its just about adding some social variety to our diets as more and more of our friends start preschool and school.

There are some yahoo groups, and on the Eastside there is the TPA (Teaching Parents Association) in Woodinville. Which area of Seattle were you looking for?

I am exploring the idea of homeschooling my almost 5 year old daughter. She is currently a PreK student in SPS, and we are considering pulling her out.

Are you interested in co-oping?

On my initial search, most groups in the Seattle area are Christian based, and this is not for our family.

This is the problem I've encountered. I do not want religion to be a part of our schooling in any way and I haven't found much otherwise
