Looking for resources on making prefolds

I just discovered this forum and am looking for info on making my own prefolds. I'm a novice when it comes to sewing, but am willing to learn. Any suggestions?
TIA

For custom prefolds, cut the body pieces to the width you want (probably about 3/4's, or more, the waist size that you'd want) and the length to the rise. So, if your babe is about a 14" waist and a 14-15" rise, you could make them about 12"-13" wide and about a 15-16" rise. The center panel is 1/3 the total width - you can sew it to one layer inside the body or sew it on the outside. You'd probably be fine using a zig-zag stitch on your machine (if you don't have a serger), or your machine might have an overlock stitch ... then you just have to trim the fabric next to the stitching (it might get a little messy in time from washing, but won't fray past the stitches).

Fern & Faerie have some good (free!) instructions for making prefolds.

Good luck and post pictures!
