Does anyone have a good book about world festivals and celebrations?
Maybe something broken up individually by each month and including crafts?
My children are nearly 7, 5, and 1.

Thanks!

: I was coming here to ask for books recommendations for the same thing. Not so much for the child who celebrates the particular holiday, but a more general 'this holiday is celebrated by, in this way, for this reason' type of stories.

Yes, I just got my 10yo this one: Kids Around the World Celebrate! : The Best Feasts and Festivals from Many Lands by Lynda Jones. I bought it on Amazon :)

There are a whole bunch of Kids Around the World titles - crafts, food, games and so forth. Of course going to Amazon and looking at just one of these books will lead you into hours of discovering others that are similar, so have fun!

There are also some books for younger kids that I found on Amazon (thanks, Yavi, for the kick in the behind to look there)... do a search on "Rookie Read-About" and "Festival Time". Both will return some that look promising. I ordered a few for the current month (history of Halloween, Day of the Dead, Feasts and Dates-A Ramandan Story) and marked a few on my wish list for the coming months' holidays.

I checked it out from the library and it's wonderful. I own the original Children Just Like Me book. Also highly recommended.
