Anyone else lose a lot of weight? So far this pregnancy I think I've lost close to 15 pounds. The normal for me is around 5 in the first trimester. I was overweight this time to begin with so I am still about my 8 month pregnant weight with dd (I only got to 8 months with her). I changed medications from Celexa to Wellbutrin and the Celexa was causing me to gain weight and not lose it when I wasn't pregnant. I also have been having a lot of nausea and heartburn and no appetite. it's quite frustrating. My midwife has commented on the weight loss but doesn't seem too concerned yet. I was just wondering if anyone else has lost a lot of weight this pregnancy.

I always lose weight during pregnancy. I joke that the "pregnancy diet" is the best one for me. The amount of weight loss has varied with each pregnancy, but I only gain back about 5 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight. My babies are always full-term and healthy with good weights.

1st - lost 15 lbs, gained 20 lbs - baby was 7#13oz

2nd - lost 35 lbs, gained 29 lbs - baby was 7#2oz

3rd - lost 20 lbs, gained 25 lbs - baby was 7#3oz

4th (current) - lost 26 lbs and then stopped. I may have almost gained back a pound since I stopped losing 2 weeks ago.

I am with you both this time around. I had lost 17 pounds by 16 weeks, I have gained 3 back since then and I have just stayed at 14 lbs lost. All I like to eat is really healthy stuff and I was throwing up a lot before. I was overweight before I got pregnant and so I just am not able to eat enough to maintain the prepregnancy weight anymore. Baby shows that she is growing so I am trying not to worry about it too much.

If you're a little overweight to begin with, I'd not worry at all. If you're super skinny and it's dropping you down below where you are comfy, I'd probably talk to MW. But, if she hasn't brought it up, then likely she's not concerned either.

I usually don't gain anything until somewhere around 20ish weeks and oftentimes lose. With my first I lost through 20w, and didn't gain anything until 30 weeks, but I still managed to gain almost 25 lbs. This time, I've gained zero/lost zero. I always have nice big babies too.

when I got pregnant with dd I was really skinny, I gained 25 lbs and lost most of it soon after she was born. Then I had severe PPD (I was in the hospital for a week) and put on medication with weight gain as a side effect. i gained 20 lbs in 4 weeks. I was able to lose 10lbs of that by the time I got pregnant with ds. I gained 30lbs with him and did not lose any of that baby weight after he was born (or I lost some but gained it right back because the breastfeeding made me ravenous and the meds kept me from keeping weight off) So whe I got pregnant with this one I was at what I was 9 months pregnant with ds. So I am not too concerned yet, I just wasn't sure if it was normal to lose so much weight. Hearing other experiences is helpful.
