Normally, I am a very sexual person. Since getting pregnant, my libido has gone down. And now... at 4 months, well, even thinking about sex makes me uncomfortable. I try, but I am at the point where starting to get frisky is actually annoying and a huge turn off. : This is very upsetting, as I have always enjoyed our love life.

Is this hormonal? I cannot find much on it other than in the second trimester your sex drive is supposed to increase? I do feel rather depressed since I went into my second trimester, is this more depression linked? Any of you go through this?

When I am pregnant...I do NOT want or like sex. It's uncomfortable, I feel like I look silly laying there w/ my belly bouncing around (lol), orgasm HURRRRRRRRRRRRRTS!!!!!!, and by the time we do it...I'm exhuasted from the day's events.

I've never experienced depression in my pregnancies so I'm not sure how or if it's related. I just know that I've felt like this with ALL of my pregnancies.

It's not my tummy or my body, it's general lack of any sort of desire. Like, stay away!

hi,
i think it's very common, and i believe it's totally hormonal.

like you, i very rarely ever said no to sex, and the first time i got pregnant with my son, for the first trimester my drive actually increased even more (maybe due to the fact that my orgasms were way more intense) but then toward the second trimester it went back to normal and even decreased a bit. i also always experienced tight braxton hicks immediately after orgasm, but never at any other time.
since my son was born my sex drive isn't at all what it used to be. like you, it takes a LOT to get me interested and sometimes the foreplay has the opposite effect it's supposed to. i'm not sure if it's becasue i'm nursing or what.
so this pregnancy i was looking forward to the increased libido that i experienced last time, but it's totally not happening, in fact it's even lower than it has been

anyway, at least you can rest assured that you aren't alone.
