My first OB is generally an okay guy. He isn't great, but I've learned to accept mediocrity for now. My one big problem with him is that he INSISTS i will have a c-section (i have 2 larger, though not BIG, fibroids). He did mention that he doesn't approve of the antenatal Rhogam though, so that's good cause I don't want it. (My other problem with him is that I was pg one other time and it ended in stillbirth and he doesn't see this as relevant.)
I made an appt to meet a 2nd OB. He says I still have lots of time until I give birth and they could even try an aversion to turn the baby, so there's no need to say whether or not I will need a c-section. He is very concerned about why my stillbirth happened. I give him my birth plan. No complaints there. HOWEVER. He tells me that because I am vegan, I'm not getting the "right" protein. This is BS. (And I hereby vow to stop telling docs what I eat, dangit.) I tell him I don't want Rhogam. He refuses to see me. Fine, w h atever.
I return to doc 1 today for appt. He freaks a bit that I don't want Rhogam but gets over it (but insists there is no doctor in the state of NY at any major medical institution who advocates not getting Rhogam). I talk to him again about the c-section - he seems much better on that subject. I show him my birth plan. He freaks out, starts yelling about how I'm one of "those" women (I think he means MDC types; ) refuses to have a rational discussion with me, and tells me he's transferring me and he won't see me again. (He didn't even get to the big points of my birth plan - he was upset that I want the opportunity to walk in labor.)
I'm so annoyed. I have to stay @ a hospital because I'm high risk, and these 2 docs were associated with the hospital I hate the least around here. I'm also annoyed because deep down I knew weeks ago I needed a new doc - doc 1 never really answers my questions, always brushes me off. Always trust your gut instinct, dangit!!!!
