DS is three months old and is the ultimate velcro baby. The Moby Wrap has worked well for naps (which he won't take anywhere but on me!). He is getting too heavy for it, so I have ordered a Gypsy Mama. (I tried on and hated the mei tai.)

I need something easier to put on and off for awake times and when we are out and about. I have tried and returned both the Hotsling and Peanut Shell because they didn't fit well (and DS hated them). I have a Ella Roo ring sling now. DS seems to be OK with a front facing hold. I think I need something more padded though.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

what kind of MT was it? what didn't you like about it?

that might help to figure out what would work best for you.

also, a shorter wrap might be good if you like the wrap - you wouldn't be able to do as many carries with it, but it would quicker on/off and not as much material dragging around. i know a lot of mamas who loooove short wraps especially for a rucksack carry - super quick and easy. and you can also use a shorter wrap like a rebozo (if you don't mind long-ish tails hanging down) for a one-shouldered carry.

though of course a wrap is not going to be padded.

if you're looking for padding, a structured carrier like Ergo, Beco, Patapum, Yamo (and there are others too) is probably the way to go. but they're a lot like the MT in fit and function, so it might not be for you, depending on what you didn't like about the MT...

if you would like a padded ring sling, I have heard good things about the maya wrap lightly padded.
at about 5 months we started using our ergo, almost exclusively, for outings.
btw, I have a gypsy mama and it is a great wrap.
