I had to pause this several times because it was so emotional... but I think that this needs to get more into the mainstream. We don't see this enough ~ that it is possible to have a baby and love them, to go through the entire process of pregnancy and birth knowing it will be a Goodbye.... and that we Survive. We as Womyn, as Mothers, and Fathers and Siblings... we move on, and hold that love in our hearts.

HOLY SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW the dad!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man I was NOT expecting that....

David was a great buddy of mine in high school but I haven't seen him since college really.
: :

That was REALLY hard to watch. But thanks for sharing.

As an aside... Dave is a SUPER nice guy, always was even in the obnoxious teenage years. Smart, funny, low key. He comes from a family of 11 kids (I may be off by one or two, but they were in the double digits). Their family was sort of famous in our very small town for being a huge family.
And as if their hands were not full enough -- there was a kid in our high school who was an only child, and his parents were going through an ugly divorce. The dad showed up to the court house, shot his mom, and then himself in front of this kid. He was 16. Without missing a beat, the Weatherfords took him in and made him an instant part of their family -- #12.
I think I have a more profound appreciation for that now that I am older.

The family dispute actually sounds eerily similar to something that happened locally when *I* was in high school....

I thought it was such a sweet story!

As a child I knew several families who went through similar things. I still remember the "good bye" service for one of the babies. It was neat to see a similar story now that I'm grown up and can understand.

It's often hard to comprehend how such a short, short life could have a positive impact on so many people, but they do!
