Hello. My daughter is 17 months and I am wondering if my VERY low sex drive is a result of her breastfeeding? I do not intend to cut it short if the answer is yes, I will allow her to self ween when she is ready, but I am getting a little worried about my libido. I am otherwise very healthy and active person.

While breastfeeding can impact hormones, and thus libido, I find that in many mamas of young children, the pelvic floor has not truly healed after birth. If a woman's pelvic floor is not in good working order, she will have low or no libido. I highly recommend reading Tami Kent's new book Mothering from Your Center. If you are able and your area has a practitioner of Arvigo Maya Abdominal Therapy, some sessions will be very helpful in reclaiming your womb space, pelvis, and libido. To find a practitioner:
