Is there a birth center in LR? I am not preggno but DH wants to be and my requirment is that I can go back to Germany because my whole preg and birth and post natal care was AMAZING and I don't want to go to an american hospital unless I HAVE to. Any suggestions. What is the deal with midwifery here. I would like to go to school for that as well has have one IF IF IF IF IF I got pregno. Thanks mamas

No birth centers in Little Rock, but there are several very good homebirth midwives in the area. There is a birth center in Fort Smith, approx. 3 hrs. from here. I *think* there is a midwifery school somewhere in North AR - Berryville, maybe?

I wouldn't want to go to an American hospital to give birth either!

You should look into homebirth - it is a very safe, natural, and fulfilling option. Let me know if you have any other specific questions. I LOVE to talk about homebirth.

I have thought about homebirth. I know that you can't really compare labors because each one is unique. Lets just say I hope that number two is differant than E's. My midwife aunt had both of hers at home and she inspired me in so many ways from my parenting and philosiphies. I lOVE HER! So if I wanteed to go to school here from LR it would be hard uh? You might want to call the midwives at Birth Works in LR. They may have some info on becoming a midwife.
