Here are the hats I've made this week. The big one is for my ds1 who will be 5 in January, the middle size if for my ds2 who turned 2 in May and the small one is for the baby (unknown gender) due in January. I made these using Lornas Laces Handpainted Shepard's Worsted. The yellow/blue/red color is called Lorakeet and I didn't get the label brought home in the blue/green. These make me excited for cold weather!

They look great!! Is that the Braided Cap pattern? How time consuming is it? I'm getting excited for fall and winter too! I've been making everyone felted slippers and DH has asked for a nice heavy wool cap!! I can't wait for the summer to be over!!

Yes, the Braided Cap pattern! Imo, they weren't time consuming at all and I'm a fairly slow new-ish knitter. As a matter of fact, I just started the medium sized green/blue one yesterday afternoon and finished it this evening around 8'ish. The first one took the longest, about 3-4 nights of knitting solidly after the kids went to bed.

Did you have a lot of left-over yarn after you finished the big one? Like, enough for one of the smaller ones?
Well, the big one and the teeny tiny one are made of the same yarn! Isn't it wild how they striped so differently!!! I still have some of the yellow/blue/red yarn, maybe enough to make another teeny hat. I have LOTS of the blue/green yarn left. I might have enough even to make another medium sized hat.
