OH NO!

SO heres the thing..I love doing Dipe laundry..I know its strange (acutally you probably all understand) but i know how I like it done and I love folding it and putting it away etc..
This morning I gathered up the dipes to wash and started putting htem in the washer..They were sitting in there waiting for the last 2 dipes the babes had on..anyway my nanny (college student) shows up at 9 am (I am a WAHM so I have two college students-1 on MWF, and the other TR..- to watch the twins while IM upstairs working..)

ARound 11 I go down to start the wash and I see a "new" load in teh wash. ANd I think..hmm thats strange since even if she had started it the dipe wash is pretty long (its on "Extra" cycle and takes about 45 mins in the machine)..I go to the dryer and see a load of DRY dipes..Im still confused , until I take them out and they STINK TO HIGH [email protected]!!! UGH she just moved DIRTY DIPES to the dryer and now the smell is BAKED ON!
I cant believe it.

I wanted to scream!!!!! am I doomed? I immediately put them back in teh wash with some detergent and on extra wash..which will do a hot soak, wash, rince, spin, hot soak, wash, rinse, spin then cold soak, wash, rinse and spin.. I have soft water and used 1/2 cap detergent.
What else should I do?

Im so upset. It was like my WHOLE stash in there!??? GRR..

ugh!! That has happened to me too.
A well meaning relative had put the diapers in the dryer after they finished their rinse, but hadn't been washed.
I promptly put them in the wash again and did a double wash and they were fine. No more baked on smell.....

Oh No!!!
Thats awful, couldnt she tell they were dirty??? I know its probably too late and I could be wrong but would a cold soak/wash be better first? Hot sets smells/stains in.... then again, too late aye? The dryer did that

Im sorry... I hope they come out ok in the end.

May I say that you have a good system though. Im a wahm and its SO hard taking care of just one baby and working here. Dh thinks I should do both... he hasnt tried to do something AND take care of Benjamin lately LOL.

Take care and let us know how they turn out

THanks everyone.
I washed them thru 3 full ex cycles and they are fine! WHEW!

My nanny doesnt do my wash, she thought she was "helping" me out m but oh well!

I am lucky to have some help during the day , with baby twins I think owning a full time business just wouldnt be possible..Im very fortunate to be able to be home with them all day and come down for nursing all day but still make money..(even if she ruins my dipes !
!)

Thanks again!!

My mom did that to "help" me once, too. I can't believe she didn't notice that the diapers were covered with poop when she put them in the dryer.
: The baby was a newborn when it happened, so about half of the diapers had poop on them, not just one or two per load like it is now that he's older.

I found that just washing them normally with a little extra detergent worked fine. I had a lot more trouble cleaning the poop out of the dryer. YUCK!
