I just found a veggie recipe for refried pintos. I'm not sure if that is what your looking for but her goes. 1/3 cup olive oil, 5 Tbsp melted butter. Saute one medium onion in oil and butter. Add cooked mashed beans (mashed with a little bean juice (2 cups dried, I pressure cook mine and they are wonderful). Stir and cook on low until liquid is absorbed. Oh yeah add 1/2-1 tsp salt. If you want whole beans I often flavor mine with onions, garlic, and maybe even a little veg broth.
