I was wondering how other SAHM make friends. Today at the park, I met another SAHM who has a child the same age as my son. We talked a little bit and we are both supposed to be going to a toddler group over the summer so hopefully I will see her some more. I told my husband and he asked if I got her number. I think that would be weird to ask so soon. Is there proper ettiquite for this? Like should you wait to ask for phone number/talk about a play date after talking a few weeks first? I don't want to be a weirdo or scare anyone off lol.

I think that it is OK to take/give my number. Sadly, I have given my number and then not heard for the mom. Or, I call...not hear back.

I hope that you find a friend.

It's tricky. One of my longest running mom friends is someone I met at Barnes and Noble when our girls were babies. We chatted while they played trains and then he distantly exchanged numbers. It felt awkward, like dating, but turned out very worth it.

Most of my other mom friends I've met by attending groups and activities with my kiddos. You tend to run into the same people again and again and it's less awkward.

I can usually tell right away if I click with people. If I do I give me number. It is like dating lol
