making reusable produce bags etc...

I keep looking at the reusable grocery bags, and I have to be able to make these for a better price. What do you think? I've got a sewing machine that doesn't get used for anything but *new* quilting projects, but I keep thinking I've got to branch out and save money, too.

I'd like to make produce/grains/etc bags, wrap style container for sandwiches and lunch goodies, and possibly canvas lunch bags. Are these cheaper to make or buy?
