I got some wonderful information from another mama at MDC... who thought my recent mood swings, depression, being mean to everyone attitudes is coming from yeast.
Soooo, I looked it up, and found lots of reading information.

I think this is what my 11 year old has as well. He was totally overmedicated (I didn't know better then) at the age 1 and then again at 5 for ear infections (ALL caused by dairy)
He is now on Strattera.

I want all the GOOD info I can get about Candida that will help our lives. I want my baby off the drugs, and I want to get back to the loving person I once was.

If you have any info, please, please email me!

TIA~ Jodi

I have experience in this. My son is 8 years old, and was diagnosed with adhd. I was pressured into putting him on Straterra. This did help his focus, but his mood swings became unbearable. I was very worried for him. The school called one day pushing me to raise his medication. I refused, and decided that there just had to be another way. After reading an article in Mothering mag, I googled the dr. that was cited and it turned out he had a lab in a nearby town that tested for many different things that cause adhd. My son, it turns out, has multiple food intolerances, allergies, and EXTREMELY high levels of yeast. This was huge. It was a major lifestyle change, so we began with removing the foods from his diet and began allergy shots. Last month we began giving him supplements for both nutritional deficiencies and for yeast. His mood swings cleared up fast after changing his diet, but the focus has still been hard. Yeast takes a long time to clear up, but it's been about 6 weeks of taking supplements and 2-3 months of new diet, and he is no longer hyperactive or moody and his focus is finally returning. I hope this helps. anyone with questions in regards to my post can e-mail me at [email protected] I would be happy to share my story more in-depth. I want to help ANYONE that is looking for an answer to adhd, there are REAL ways to treat this by finding the cause rather than masking the symptoms with medication. I regret deeply medicating my son, I would like to help others with my story.
