When did you make the switch to maternity clothes this time?

I am only 4.5 weeks but I am living in my Yoga pants. I am trying to decide when I should bit the bullet and make the switch. The problem is that my SIL has most of my maternity clothes in another city 2 hours away and her baby isn't due for 6 more weeks.

Just curious when the 3+ crowd is making the switch. I switched over at 10 weeks with my last baby, do you think I can expect a faster switch this time?

Can you get a couple things to get by? Or use a bella band? I was big to start with so a lot of my stretchy pants still fit me at 15 weeks. I don't think I got bigger this time any earlier than with my second.

Around 16 weeks is when I started going for maternity pants. I have jeans that are bigger than my normal ones that I wore.

This is my 6th pregnancy but 2 of those where mc.

Do you think your your SIL may have a pair or 2 of pants that dont fit her anymore?

i'm now preggo with my 4th (almost 12wks) and my jeans arent really fitting anymore but i am not ready for maternity jeans yet. i have 2 pairs of jeans that are a bigger and a pair of sweat type pants that fit. i am trying so hard to not buy any winter maternity clothes bc i wont need it long.

I only ever wear stretchy, comfy pants so I'm still wearing my prepregnancy pants now at 29+ weeks...and plan to continue to the end.

If I wore jeans, I'd have been out of them by 6 weeks...

Oh, this is my fifth.

I'm 16wks with #4 and picked up some maternity clothes a week or so ago. I was living in yoga pants as well and anything stretchy pretty much right away. If you can get a couple more comfy pants I think you will be able to make it through for a few more weeks. It's silly to go spend money on more mat clothes when you have some waiting for you.

almost immediately my regular clothes were uncomfortable, but it was only because my GI tract was all backed up. Once I passed up the first trimester I could actually wear my old clothes again . I don't think I was showing unitl about 20wks...which is really weird to me since I was huge with dd2. I'm still carrying pretty small.

At maybe 8 weeks along. I didn't 'pop' early, I just retained a lot of water and got pretty bloated so that my usual attire of jeans and a t-shirt weren't comfy. I had to wear some small maternity jeans (without the wide band - the ones that sit under your belly).

Even though the previous replies are that they were further along, I think it's pretty common to get bigger earlier with each subsequent pregnancy

Im on number four, with number three I was in maternity clothes within the first month. I did manage to wear my scrubs for quite a while, if those are an option for you. This time, very early everything normal was too tight but maternity clothes still were too big. Ugh. I think if you can find a couple pair of stretch pants you can make it til you get your stuff back. I had the same issue, only my sister was done with them, it just took forever for me to get them back!!

Good luck and congratulations on the baby!!!

I have to leave for church in a couple of hours and I'm afraid everyone will know, my belly is poking out so much.

I have been hiding from my family for the past week and we are not planning on telling them until dinner tomorrow so I have to keep this little pooch sucked in today. They know we are TTC so they are on belly watch.

This is my 5th (4th child--had 1 m/c) and the closest I've had two pregnancies. I still have the bigger clothes I wore after having my dd while I was losing weight so I've been wearing those, but I'm not needing mat. clothes yet. Oh, I'm 11 weeks today.

I had kept on a few pounds after having my dd so that doesn't help, but I'm still surprised how fast I'm popping out!

I started with my maternity pants before 10 weeks, although i didn't look obviously pg (everything else felt really tight and uncomfortable). Tops, I didn't start until about 15/16 weeks.

I think that's the direction I am headed in too. I am wearing yoga pants but rolling the waist down because the pressure form the waistband even feels yucky.

I wound up having to tell my SIL today since she took one look at me and knew anyway. I am a terrible liar but she helped me hide it from all the other snoopers.

Same here!

I was told today by someone that I look like I lost weight. I was wearing a shawl which was hiding a very large-for 16 weeks-belly.

Although we are expecting our third child (hopefully) this is my 6th pregnancy (3 miscarriages) so I guess it's not surprising that I am pooching out so quickly.
