mamas that don't feel free.....LOL I am impressed with myself I have NEVER sewn any type of clothing other than a hem or a diaper. Diapers I have done a lot of, so the cover isn't that impressive (actually it is pretty ugly as it was a 'trial' of something I was thinking of) but I love the print so we use it. Well I have some of the knit material and thought "how hard could a t-shirt actually be?" (SILLY ME) anyway here is my first attempt at sewing a shirt for my son.....please don't laugh, and if your a sewing mama and you cheated and looked, well no fair making fun of me, it was my first try, no pattern (accept an old t-shirt of his) so it is a bit big, but so is the cover (it is a large) so he will wear it a while!

Joe lovin the froggies

Layin down in the froggies

The bum!

Sick of pictures, I am outta here

Here you can only see the shirt. a bit big, but will fit a while!

Remember no laughing, it was my first attempt! But aren't the frogs cute? and the cover is that print laminated, so it is only one layer of PUL with fold-over elastic! ~

LOL If I got close up on the little wave in the ribbing on the back, you would see.....I am pretty impressed for my first time sewing clothes though, it didn't take me as long as I thought it would though! (about 2 hours from start to finish, and that includes ripping apart the old shirt for a 'pattern' ~ )

YES he is, I will agree there for sure! He is always happy, never cries and frankly the easiest kid on the planet! (firmly attached to mama!) ~

Oh and I love that print too, that is why I snatched up the yardage when I could!
I only had a little left of the PUL'd stuff but I love the cover too! ~

Marnie that is SO cute! You should be proud! If it makes you feel any better, the first thing I tried to sew was a pair of pants out of flannel for dh. Let's just say I didn't sew it right at the crotch (for some reason I sewed them with one leg backwards), and there ended up being a bit of a...um..."pouch" in the front. Needless to say, it was almost X-rated! :) He was a good sport though and only made fun of me for about 3 weeks... :)
